oooo

oooo is a new plugin by Infinite Digits that has been in the works for half a decade. It started as a script for monome norns called oooooo (2020), evolved into similar scripts like acrostic (2021) and ouroboros (2023) and was used in multiple SuperCollider performances (2024), and eventually a JACK client called oooooooo (2025). This style of tool has been utilized for three Infinite Digits albums: generations , at the place , and for the theatre of the flat imagination

The core of this instrument are digital tape loops that can be created, destroyed, recorded and played, be leveled, paned, slowed, sped up, shortened, lengthened, overdubed, destroyed, warbled, blown out. Every parameter has an LFO. It also includes features I use a lot in my own music practice: the ability to play loops like a mellotron with MIDI or the monome grid, and a stereo version of my favorite reverb from Dattorro's effect design paper .

Use the oooo tool as a standalone instrument or within a DAW. But in many ways, oooo is a DAW, so enjoy it as a DAW within a DAW.
